Job summary

Cape Cod Child Development Center in Buzzards Bay, MA is seeking a part-time Child Care Assistant for an intermittent schedule (0–19 hours/week) at $18.00 per hour. The role supports early childhood education and works with staff to implement age-appropriate activities.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED, English proficiency, and at least one year of experience with children. Health and safety measures, and daily reporting are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• One year of general experience working with children; group setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute early childhood education activities to promote development.
• Assist in curriculum development with the director and teachers.
• Supervise and ensure safety in classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas.
• Assist in preparing materials, meals/snacks, and daily reports.
• Interact with children, parents, and staff using approved child guidance techniques.
