Job summary

thread seeks a Professional Development Specialist to enhance the quality of early childhood education across Alaska statewide. You’ll deliver training, CDA support, and coaching to educators and programs, using adult-learning principles and multiple delivery methods.

You will support credentialing, provide on-site assessments, manage data, and promote continuous quality improvements in collaboration with communities and schools. This role requires travel and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in child development, education, health education, social work or related field preferred.
• Equivalent Early Childhood Education experience, skills and competencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional development supports and services to early educators and programs to improve quality of early childhood education.
• Offer training, CDA support and verification, technical assistance, consultation and coaching.
• Provide on-site and off-site professional development informed by formal and informal assessments to Alaska educators and programs.
• Create, implement, and facilitate PD training following adult learning best practices incl. in-person and distance delivery.
• Support CDA credentialing and Alaska Administrator Credential pathways.
• Perform on-site assessments of environment and operations using formal tools.
• Gather and maintain program data and reports via database systems and shared tools.
• Assist with accommodating children with special needs and/or challenging behaviors in program settings.
• Support continuous quality improvement including achieving national accreditation standards.
• Deliver PD services per Learn & Grow procedures and team policies.
