Overview: The Child First model is an evidence-based, two-generation intervention working with vulnerable children (prenatal to age 5) and their families, providing home-based services to reduce mental health issues, disabilities, and abuse.
Child First offers psychotherapeutic, dyadic interventions to strengthen the parent-child relationship and care coordination to connect families with services. Recognized as an evidence-based model by the U.S. government, it is rated “Effective” by NREPP of SAMHSA.
The Clinician partners with a Family Support Partner to engage families referred to the program, aiming to strengthen caregiver-child relationships and facilitate emotional, language, and cognitive growth. The role involves trauma-informed, relationship-based therapy focusing on attachment, providing consultation in early care settings, and participating in reflective supervision and training.
