Job summary

Southside ISD's Menchaca Early Childhood Campus seeks a General Aide to support teachers and students in a nonexempt, hourly role. You will assist with instructional materials, classroom setup, testing administration, and supervision across the school day.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 48 college hours or equivalent, and a Texas educational aide certificate. Salary is hourly with full-time status in a campus setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; 48 college hours or meets No Child Left Behind requirements; valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Special knowledge/skills: Ability to work well with children; ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thoroughness, reliability and accuracy in performing work assignments.
• Works cooperatively with others and maintains a positive attitude in the work environment.
• Assists teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assists with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help keep classroom neat and orderly; assist with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground; communicate student needs to the teacher.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
