Job summary

East Chambers ISD is seeking a dedicated Classroom Aide to assist certified staff in meeting instructional goals. Under supervision you will help prepare materials, work with students individually and in groups, and support assessments.

You will also help with behavior management, non-instructional duties, field trips, and parent communications, with focus on inclusion for students with special needs. A High School diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work with students with diverse needs.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified staff in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills.
• Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions and ensure a safe environment.
• Assist students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, hallway, study hall).
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Construct, copy and distribute educational materials as needed.
• Assist teacher with parent contact to foster involvement in student education.
• Assist students with special needs to maximize inclusion and learning.
• Participate in IEP processes as needed.
• Assist students with activities of daily living as appropriate.
• Follow safety rules and procedures for all students.
