Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. in Hamlet, NC is seeking a dependable Classroom Aide to assist teachers in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms.

You will support daily activities, supervise children, and help keep records, working as part of a collaborative education team. Starting at $14 per hour, the schedule is Monday–Friday, roughly 40 hours per week, with shifts from 6:45am-2:45pm or 7:30am-3:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA Credential preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom activities and supervision.
• Support children's developmental and educational needs.
• Help maintain classroom records and documentation.
• Assist with classroom organization and cleanliness.
• Supervise children during classroom and outdoor activities.
• Support family engagement and communication.
