Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support Lead Teachers in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities and creating a warm, safe classroom environment for young learners.

You will assist with daily routines, documentation, and family communication while helping children develop curiosity, confidence, and kindness in a nurturing setting. Prior coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus; we hire for character and train for skill.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Genuine care for children and a commitment to their safety and well-being
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports
