Job summary

Learning Grove in Cincinnati is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support curriculum implementation, engage with families, and assist the Lead Teacher in meeting each child’s needs. You will help maintain a safe, stimulating classroom and support the development of appropriate learning environments.

Responsibilities include welcoming families, assisting with lesson plans, and ensuring licensing ratios are met, with a focus on nurturing every child’s growth in a supportive team setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak, and write English.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manage classroom through positive redirection and active listening.
• Support lead teacher in development and implementation of lesson plans.
• Prior experience with young children commensurate to responsibilities.
• Completion of State Approved Orientation for Child Care Providers.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Successful clearance of required Criminal Background Checks.
• Compliance with licensing requirement for TB testing.
• No physical or mental/emotional limitations that would hinder care for children.
• Willing to fulfill responsibilities in line with the center's educational philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and maintaining a clean, safe, engaging environment appropriate for each child's developmental level.
• Assist the Lead Teacher with appearance, decor, and learning environment of the classroom.
• Make families feel welcome, greet parents and children at arrival and departure.
• Assist in implementing lesson plans that promote development of each child.
• Meet and maintain licensing requirements for ratio.
