Child Development Schools Virginia is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help create a warm and engaging classroom for toddlers and preschoolers. You will work with the Lead Teacher to deliver age-appropriate activities, ensure safety and licensing compliance, and communicate with families daily.

You will observe children, document progress, and support ongoing development while participating in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Genuine care for children and a commitment to their safety and well-being.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.
• A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus but not required.

Responsabilités

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the Toddler or Preschool classroom.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports.
