Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. You will support young learners alongside the Lead Teacher, encouraging curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth through hands-on activities and storytelling.

You will partner with families and be a positive role model in a collaborative teaching team dedicated to safe, engaging early childhood education.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with families.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.
• Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom meeting licensing and ratio requirements.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports.
