Job summary

Community Action Pioneer Valley, Inc. is seeking a Teacher Assistant to work with educators in Head Start programs, helping implement daily curriculum and ensuring health and safety standards in classroom and bus settings.

You will engage with families to support individualized School Readiness goals and coordinate with teaching teams on creating safe indoor/outdoor environments. A strong foundation in ECE regulations and active involvement in workshops are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED.
• Enrolled in a CDA or ECE degree program; CDA to be completed within 2 years of hire date or Associates degree within 5 years.
• ECE-related experience: 6–12 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Educators to implement daily curriculum and safety practices.
• Maintain health and safety standards in classroom and bus settings.
• Engage with families to support school readiness goals.
• Complete required documentation and certifications per EEC/NAEYC.
• Provide safe supervision of children and assist with meals.
• Attend program workshops and meetings.
• Adhere to confidentiality policies and maintain good staff relationships.
