Job summary

Acquire4Hire in Norwich, CT is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support Teachers and the Director in creating a caring, safe environment and assisting in activities to improve the quality of education. You will implement curricula activities, engage children, document observations for parents and staff, and help with smooth transitions from home to the center.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of professional child care experience.
• High energy and ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of child development.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Must pass a full background check and health screening.
• Hours are 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with flexibility to 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
