CPCD in Colorado Springs is hiring an Apprentice Teacher Assistant to support teachers in delivering safe, high-quality early learning experiences for the whole child, in partnership with families.

Starting Sept 14, the program is a competency-based apprenticeship with 2,000 on-the-job hours and 44 competencies, offering wage steps from $17.59 to $22.34 per hour; tuition assistance after 60 days and benefits apply 25+ hours/week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA credential or Level II credential required; obtain within two years.
• Must obtain First Aid, CPR, and medication administration within 90 days.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to CPCD locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in planning and implementing safe, high‑quality learning experiences.
• Support the development of school readiness skills in collaboration with families.
• Comply with Head Start standards and CPCD policies and procedures.
