Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) offers a 12-month Leadership Development Program in the health care payer space, with exposure to senior leadership, mentorship, and cross‑functional project work across multiple business areas.

Participants gain hands‑on experience in strategic planning, analysis, and leadership, and join the enterprise New Grad program to transition from school to the workplace.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a master’s degree with interest in health care management and strategic planning.
  • Graduation between Dec 2026 and Jun 2027.
  • GPA minimum 3.0/4.0.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization.
  • No OPT/CPT sponsorship for these roles.
  • PM skills including organization, prioritization and problem‑solving.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

This role participates in a 12‑month Leadership Development Program in the health care payer space. The program builds a foundation in strategic thinking, communication, leadership and project management. Participants gain hands‑on experience supporting strategic projects across multiple business and functional areas. Depending on placement, work may include Value Based Care, Pharmacy, Network Strategy, Individual and Family Markets and related enterprise priorities.

  • Exposure to senior leadership.
  • Professional development through executive mentorship.
  • Opportunities to interact with and present projects to senior‑level executives.
  • Formal and informal networking across multiple functional areas.
  • Exposure to multiple business areas and health care priorities.
  • Opportunities to develop innovative approaches to health care challenges.
  • Development in strategic planning, analysis, communication and leadership.
  • Project work throughout a highly matrixed organization.
  • Exposure to the operations of a large and diverse organization.
What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?
  • Currently pursuing an MHA, MHSA, MPH, MS‑HSM, MBA or similar master’s degree with an interest in health care management and strategic planning.
  • Graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • We are not offering this program under OPT or CPT or sponsoring work visas for these roles.
  • Project management skills, including strong organization, prioritization and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience interacting with personnel across departments and at various levels of an organization.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning techniques and industry trends.
  • Experience with analytics and information synthesis.
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office products.
What Do You Need to Be Successful?

Preferred: health insurance or health care industry experience or a strong interest in the industry.

What Does the New Grad Program Entail?
  • Participants hired into the Leadership Development Program also participate in HCSC’s enterprise New Grad experience, which complements role‑specific development during their first year.
  • Formal New Employee Orientation to build business and industry acumen.
  • A six‑month enterprise development experience designed to support the transition from school to the workplace.
  • Professional development focused on communication, relationship building, navigating workplace challenges, critical thinking and career growth.
  • Opportunities to connect with peers and company leaders across HCSC.
  • Meaningful role‑specific work and development through the 12‑month Leadership Development Program.

Flex employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days a week. Management will have discretion to modify an employee's weekly schedule for exigent circumstances.

Base Pay Range $63,300.00 - $114,300.00 Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
