As an Early Career Trial Attorney, you'll handle bodily injury, property damage lawsuits, and more, with engaging trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Beyond the courtroom, you'll provide vital counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams. Stay ahead of new laws and regulations to keep our strategies sharp. Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including assessment, discovery, depositions, motions, negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions.
Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal documents.
Interview clients and witnesses, draft summaries, and maintain communication records.
Attend court hearings, depositions, and legal proceedings; represent the company or clients in routine matters as needed.
Monitor changes in laws and regulations and update the legal team on potential impacts.
Participate in training and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and handle complex legal work.
Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
Successful completion of courses in legal research, writing, and analysis.
Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Organizational skills for managing case files and understanding the discovery process.
Effective communication with clients and record-keeping abilities.
Knowledge of legal ethics and professional conduct standards.
Negotiation skills for client interactions and settlements.
Must be within commuting distance to courthouses in the greater Fort Lauderdale-Miami area.
