Job Description

Join the legal frontline and champion the defense for both the insured and the Company! As an early career Trial Attorney, you'll handle no-fault, bodily injury, property damage lawsuits, and more, with trials, arbitrations, and mediations. You'll provide vital counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams. Stay ahead by monitoring new laws and regulations to keep strategies sharp. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including assessment, discovery, depositions, motions, negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to ensure favorable outcomes.
• Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Interview clients and witnesses; draft summaries and maintain communication records.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and legal proceedings; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations; update the legal team on potential impacts.
• Participate in training and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to complex legal work.

Education

• Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar

Minimum Requirements

• 0–3 years related experience
• Completion of courses in legal research, writing, and analysis; ability to conduct thorough research and draft legal documents.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Organizational skills for managing case files and understanding the discovery process.
• Effective communication with clients; ability to prepare summaries and maintain records.
• Knowledge of legal ethics and professional conduct standards.
• Basic negotiation skills for client interactions and settlements.
• Must be within commuting distance to courthouses throughout New York.

Compensation

Annual salary ranges from $66,800 to $120,650, based on experience and qualifications.
