Job Description

Join the legal frontline and champion the defense for both the insured and the Company! As an Early Career Trial Attorney, you'll handle bodily injury, property damage lawsuits, and more, with thrilling trials, arbitrations, and mediations. Beyond the courtroom, you'll provide vital counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams. Stay ahead of the game by monitoring new laws and regulations, ensuring our strategies remain sharp. Embrace the excitement of constant challenges and victories in this dynamic role!

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including case assessment, discovery, depositions, motions, negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to ensure favorable outcomes.
  2. Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases, including preparation for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
  3. Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
  4. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
  5. Interview clients and witnesses, draft summaries of their statements, and maintain communication records.
  6. Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist as needed; may represent the company or clients in routine matters.
  7. Monitor changes in laws and regulations, and assist in updating the legal team on potential impacts.
  8. Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to complex legal work.
Education
  • Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
Minimum Requirements
  • Successful completion of courses in legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to conduct thorough research and draft legal documents.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to organize case files, manage legal documents, and understand the discovery process.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, including preparing summaries and maintaining interaction records.
  • Knowledge of legal ethics and professional conduct standards.
  • Fundamental negotiation skills for client interactions and settlements.
  • Must be within commuting distance to courthouses in the central Panhandle area.
