Job summary

Burgess & Niple, Inc. in the United States invites entry-level Transportation Engineers to join our team and contribute to designs for state DOTs and local municipalities, gaining hands-on experience in geometric design, drainage, pavement rehabilitation, and 3D modeling.

You'll work with experienced engineers and project managers, rehearse plans, and develop drawings and cost estimates while advancing professional qualifications such as EIT and ABET-backed degrees.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• EIT or Engineer Intern registration or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience a plus.
• Strong interest in transportation engineering and improving safety/efficiency of transportation systems.
• Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design and produce plans for transportation design projects for state DOTs and local municipalities.
• Projects may include rural highways, urban corridors, roundabouts, interchanges, and large-scale projects.
• Prepare designs, calculations, reports, and cost estimates.
• Develop engineering drawings using digital delivery and 3D modeling technologies.
