Job description

Clearance Required

This occupation performs various tasks required to support the Assembly, Test, and Operations (ATLO) of spacecraft.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:

  1. Fabricate, assemble, and test complex assemblies/subsystems and spacecraft systems.
  2. Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ground support equipment.
  3. Fabricate ground and flight harnesses and perform continuity and other in-process checks using appropriate equipment and procedures.
  4. Inventory and inspect parts for compliance with work instructions and other documentation.
  5. Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  6. Assemble detailed parts, mechanisms, subsystems, and components into an end product following work instructions.
  7. Align, fit, and assemble parts using hand tools and fixtures.
  8. Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate the performance of parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions and record results.
  9. Support spacecraft assembly, subsystem test, environmental test, pack & ship operations, and off-site processing.
  10. Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve problems.
  11. Create and work in a team environment while implementing Continuous Process Improvement.
  12. Be able to give/take work direction to/from team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Active Top Secret with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI w/Poly.
  2. Highly motivated Technician to build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair flight hardware, including electrical/mechanical ground support equipment.
  3. Experience working with test and measurement equipment (i.e., multi-meters, scales, torque wrenches).
  4. Able to read and work from schematics, engineering drawings, wiring lists, sketches, wiring connection lists, and other information and documentation.
  5. Able to work shift work and weekend work as needed.

Desired Skills:

  1. Aviation Maintenance.
  2. Airframe & Powerplant License.
  3. Military background and or leadership-type roles.
  4. Usage and knowledge of adhesives and bonding materials.
  5. Usage and knowledge of cable harness fabrication and repair.
  6. Usage and knowledge of soldering circuit boards.
  7. Knowledge and experience in crane operations, lifting, and handling.
  8. Knowledge and experience in spacecraft ground processing life cycle in preparation for mission operations.
  9. Knowledge of Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations.
  10. Knowledge of general test equipment operations.
  11. Knowledge of environmental test operations.
  12. Knowledge of proper use of standard hand tools.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $41,100 - $72,450. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
