Job summary

Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. - HRG in State College, PA seeks early career Civil Staff Engineers to join a collaborative team working on transportation, water resources, land development, and related infrastructure projects.

You will assist in design, drafting, and field-observation activities to support municipal and transportation corridors. The role targets graduates with a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred) and a valid driving license, with EIT preferred and 0–2 years’

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
• E.I.T. certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) in design/drafting capacity.
• Performing basic calculations.
• Conducting on-site construction observation of work in progress.
• Preparing plans and profile drawings utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Reviewing project design manual(s) for specification requirements.
• Assisting in preparation of drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, and other reports required for project permits and approvals.

We are proactively seeking upcoming 2027 Civil Engineering graduates!

We are seeking multiple Early Career Staff Engineers | Civil to join our dedicated team of professionals at our State College, PA office. You will focus on Transportation Engineering (Traffic, Highway & Bridge), Municipal & Water Resources, Water & Wastewater Engineering, or Land Development & Site Design. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Working closely with Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) in design/drafting capacity
• Performing basic calculations

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (or related field), preferably from an ABET-accredited program
• E.I.T. certification preferred
• Course work and/or 0 to 2 years’ experience may include:

• Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays
• Valid US Driver’s License is required
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
