Job summary

Airswift seeks a Reactor Physics & Neutronics Engineer I to join an innovative nuclear engineering team in Houston. You will contribute to reactor design, modeling, safety evaluations, and performance analyses through computational simulations and engineering calculations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or related field.
  • Recent graduate to 1-3+ years of relevant experience post-university.
  • Strong foundation in math, physics, and analytical problem solving.
  • Ability to learn in a regulated, safety-critical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reactor physics and neutronics calculations and analyses under supervision.
  • Support neutron transport, reactivity, fuel performance, depletion, and reactor-core evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain computational models using engineering software tools.
  • Assist with criticality safety evaluations and compliance with nuclear safety requirements.
  • Conduct physics-based simulations to assess reactor behavior and performance.
  • Analyze data to support engineering decisions and technical evaluations.
  • Participate in verification, validation, sensitivity, and uncertainty analyses.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with reactor systems, thermal-hydraulics, safety, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support technical reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow QA, safety, configuration management, and document control processes.
  • Take on increasing technical responsibility as knowledge grows.
