Job summary

ABB is seeking an entry-level engineer to support mechanical and electrical design activities onsite in the US. You will perform surveys, computations, analyses and basic design tasks under supervision, interact with customers and contractors, and contribute to documentation and workshops.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, attention to detail, and collaboration across a global team with opportunities to grow technical skills in software like AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks, and Windchill.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
• Entry-level position for 0–2 years of experience.
• Experience with low complexity orders and mechanical designs.
• Proficient with AutoCAD (recent version) and 3D design tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.
• Familiar with MS Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SAP and Windchill.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a global environment with cultural diversity.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey work, standard computations, analysis and basic design tasks.
• Exercise judgment on limited details and apply standard methods.
• Prepare project documentation within scope of deliverables.
• Assist customers on technical issues and interact with contacts and contractors.
• Support communication for assignments and meetings.
• Participate in workshops related to engineering design, tools and processes.
