Join to apply for the Early Career Geotechnical Engineer role at WSP in the U.S.

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Geotechnical Engineer, which could be placed in various offices including Boston-MA, North Providence-RI, Glastonbury-CT, Worcester-MA, Shelton-CT, and other WSP offices throughout New England.

Be involved in projects with our Geotechnical and Tunneling Team and be part of a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves challenges.

Your Impact

• Perform field observation and special inspection of subsurface investigations in soils and rock.
• Assist in geotechnical engineering design and analyses for bridges, buildings, tunnels, underground structures, and retaining walls under supervision.
• Assist in preparing geotechnical memoranda, data reports, and design reports.
• Perform field observation and special inspection of geotechnical construction.
• Assist in report and contract document preparation.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and project partners.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical or Tunneling Engineering, or a related field.
• 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with technical writing, office tools, and design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoSlope, and others.
• Flexibility in schedules, ability to prioritize, and adapt quickly.
• Willingness to travel and perform field work.
• Must pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
• Adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Experience with highway, bridge, building, or underground projects.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Basic First Aid and CPR training.
• Participation in professional organizations.

Benefits & Compensation

WSP offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, paid leave, and more. The salary range is $56,300 - $92,900, based on experience and location.
