Job Description
Join our Earth and Environment Team to provide geotechnical engineering assistance for infrastructure projects in both public and private sectors. Responsibilities include research, design, analysis, documentation, and collaboration on projects such as roads, buildings, tunnels, dams, and water systems. Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded in safety, design, and functionality.

Location options include Merrimack, NH; Boston, MA; Eliot, ME; or Portland, ME. The role involves field and office activities, requiring careful documentation, teamwork, problem-solving, and proactive communication.

Your Impact

  • Assist with data collection and analysis from various sources including soil, water, surveys, and GIS data.
  • Perform geotechnical evaluations such as site condition studies, stability analysis, foundation design, and geohazard assessments.
  • Contribute to technical reports and documentation using sketches, calculations, and software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist with work planning, safety, and permitting.
  • Complete training and work with infrastructure project teams at various governmental levels.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and company policies.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Training in soil and rock mechanics, geology, and foundation engineering.
  • 0-1 year of relevant experience including fieldwork and design.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical principles and software such as Rocscience Suite.
  • Strong judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and office software.
  • Experience with design software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or ArcGIS is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and comply with safety standards.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or PhD in related fields.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain.
  • Prior subsurface investigation experience.
  • Active participation in professional organizations.
