This Opportunity

WSP is seeking an Early Career Geotechnical Engineer to join our offices in Atlanta, GA, Augusta, GA, or Savannah, GA. The role involves supporting technical staff, engineers, and project managers in the design and construction of infrastructure projects across various sectors, including roads, buildings, and water systems. Responsibilities include research, design, analysis, and documentation, ensuring quality standards are met.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in data collection and analysis from various sources related to geotechnical projects.
  • Maintain quality control standards for measurements and data analysis.
  • Perform geotechnical research and site inspections, including subsurface investigations and stability analyses.
  • Support development of technology, monitoring, and design standards ensuring safety and functionality.
  • Verify site characteristics and assist in foundation and earth structure design.
  • Write technical reports and documentation accurately and clearly.
  • Support risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist in project planning and execution.
  • Complete necessary training and adhere to safety and conduct policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with construction codes and regulations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and software tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Experience with design software (e.g., GINT, LPILE).
  • Previous geotechnical experience.
