• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geological, and/or environmental engineering is required.
• Advanced degree in the same field is preferred.
• Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting is preferred.
• Regular field work and overnight travel are required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical field investigations.
• Monitor heavy civil construction projects.
• Fieldwork such as soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance.
• Perform and reviewing engineering calculations.
• Earthquake engineering.
• Landfill design and permitting.
• Dam and levee evaluations.
• Developing construction documents.
• Write and review engineering reports.
• Geotechnical exploration.
• Geotechnical instrumentation installation and monitoring.
• Well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring.
• Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation.
• Regulatory compliance services, and permitting.
• Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
• Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
• Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting. (preferred)
• Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred)
• Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
• Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS. (preferred)
• Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS. (preferred)
• Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
• Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
