Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil or Architectural Engineering or related field with 0-3 years' experience.
• Effective written and oral communication skills to write reports, business correspondence, presentations and procedures.
• Passion for advancing the science of safety and exceeding client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional-level fire protection engineering services such as life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, fire alarm design and performance-based fire engineering under supervision.
• Develop plans, specifications and inspection reports to ensure completeness and adherence to good professional practice standards.
• Assist in resolving design problems including field investigations, detailed design work and coordination of design aspects.
• Identify applicable codes and standards to reference in inquiries.
• Conduct basic building code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection and alarm reviews, smoke control reviews and hydraulic calculations.
• Apply engineering calculations for size, means of egress, building area, sprinkler and smoke control systems.
• Submit progress reports to Project Managers and Project Leaders.
• Communicate effectively with project team members, clients and others.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and initiative as a self-starter.
