Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Civil or Architectural Engineering or related field and 0-3 years' experience.
• Effective written and oral communication skills for reports, business correspondence, presentations and to respond to questions from managers, clients and the public.
• Passion for advancing the science of safety and exceeding client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional-level fire protection engineering services (life safety code consulting, sprinkler design, fire alarm design, performance-based design) under supervision.
• Develop plans, specifications and inspection reports and ensure accuracy and quality.
• Assist in resolving design problems through field investigations, detailed design, and coordination of design aspects.
• Identify applicable codes and standards for inquiries.
• Conduct basic analyses (eg, egress, fire detection, alarm systems, smoke control, sprinkler and water supply reviews) and document findings.
• Apply engineering calculations for size of means of egress, sprinkler capacities, and smoke control equipment.
• Submit progress reports to Project Managers/Leaders and communicate effectively with project teams and clients.
