Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico seeks an Early Career R&D Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy embedded software for national security programs. You will work on FPGA-aware software, object-oriented frameworks, and distributed architectures in a collaborative, onsite environment.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in a relevant field, strong C/C++, Python skills, and experience with embedded OS (Ubuntu/Green Hills).

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
• Experience developing and deploying embedded software.
• Experience targeting embedded processors in SOCs.
• Experience with embedded OS such as Ubuntu or Green Hills.
• Proven skills with C, C++, and Python.
• Familiarity with version control and bug tracking tools (Jira, GitLab, Git).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy embedded software solutions.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on debugging and architectures.
• Develop object-oriented software frameworks and architectures.
• Work with networked and distributed system designs.
• Create test plans and verify high-rigor designs.
