WSP is seeking an Early Career Civil Roadway Engineer for our Herndon-Northern Virginia team. You will support design and construction of transportation infrastructure within the Mid-Atlantic Capital Transportation Region, providing local technical assistance on public and private sector projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles, practices, process, and design.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering audiences.
• Self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization.
• Ability to work independently or in a team and meet objectives.
• Proficiency with technical writing, software, spreadsheets, and technology.
• Commitment to workplace safety and policy adherence.
• Ability to travel occasionally if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support design teams in project delivery for highway construction and related areas.
• Provide technical input during preliminary and final design and contract documentation.
• Perform basic design tasks, engineering calculations, and CAD drawings.
• Coordinate with project teams, managers, and civil team; attend meetings.
• Develop memorandums and written technical documents.
• Maintain positive team relationships and assist across disciplines as needed.
• Participate in design meetings and gather data and information.
