Job summary

RESPEC seeks an Early Career Civil Engineer to join our team in Cheyenne, WY. You will support planning, design, and implementation of mine reclamation and land restoration projects, working with engineers and environmental professionals to restore and improve mine-impacted lands while ensuring regulatory compliance.

This onsite position offers fieldwork in remote environments, travel to project sites, and a blend of office and field experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil or mining engineering.
• 0–5 years of civil/mining engineering experience with at least 1 year in construction management.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) or PE or ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe.
• Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS Pro.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, design, and construction oversight of mine land reclamation projects.
• Support site assessments and field investigations on mine lands.
• Contribute to mine closure, earthwork, and drainage design.
• Perform construction observation and QA/QC to verify compliance with specs.
• Collect, analyze, and document field data for evaluations and permitting.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Travel to project sites for inspections and fieldwork.
• Work safely in remote locations adhering to safety requirements.
