Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO invites an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Virtual Care Command Center in a hybrid role that blends bedside nursing with virtual patient monitoring. You will support bedside RNs, monitor vitals, assist with admissions and discharges, and collaborate with virtual physicians, pharmacists, and the Early Intervention Team.

Required: Missouri RN license and graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred, at least two years inpatient nursing

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• RN license active in Missouri required.

Responsibilities

Job Description

This position will be located in our Virtual Care Command Center located at Cox South Hospital. Expand your healthcare knowledge and experience while maintaining your skills at the bedside. Consider joining our team in a hybrid position in a cross training role which includes both bedside nursing shifts and an opportunity to grow new skills as a virtual nurse. Our Virtual Nursing Command Center is full of advanced technology that gives our patients an extra level of monitoring from admission to discharge. Our virtual nurses are centrally located in the Virtual Command Center at Cox South. They use this technology to support our bedside RNs with tasks to make lighten their workload as well as monitor patient’s vital signs, assist with admissions and discharges, and collaborate with our virtual physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and Early Intervention Team! Registered Nurse Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the patients experiencing medical conditions or surgical procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Registered Nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Required: At least two years' nursing experience inpatient
• Preferred: Charge nurse or preceptor experience and specialty nursing certification
