Job summary

Nokia is seeking an experienced Sr. Test Automation Engineer to lead QA initiatives, develop test strategy, and drive end-to-end automation for distributed systems. The role combines hands‑on automation with scale/soak testing using device simulators and traffic generators to ensure resilience and stability of our products.

You will mentor teammates, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and stay aligned with Nokia Quality processes while advancing testing practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in leadership roles.
• Proven expertise in test strategy development and E2E automation.
• Hands-on test automation development is required.
• Experience with a variety of test automation frameworks is required.
• Experience with public-cloud and Kubernetes environments is required.
• Strong knowledge of scale testing techniques and tools.
• Experience with security testing is a plus.
• Experience with chaos engineering and distributed systems resilience testing.
• Proficiency with device simulators and traffic generators for scale testing.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with Nokia Quality processes is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to the team for end-to-end test automation across products.
• Be hands-on in test automation development for a new product.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive test strategy, including E2E automation, scale, and soak testing.
• Execute and oversee scale and soak testing with device simulators, hardware devices, and traffic generators.
• Ensure stability and reliability of systems through regression testing.
• Apply chaos engineering to test resilience, including node failures and control plane partitions.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate and automate testing processes.
• Analyze and report test results with actionable insights and recommendations.
• Stay current with testing industry trends and best practices.
• Mentor and train team members to foster continuous learning.
