Job summary

Aether Aerospace is seeking an Engineering Technician in the Hollywood, MD area to join a growing team focused on defense technology platforms. The role involves working with engineers to assemble and install aircraft subsystems, fabricating and repairing sheet metal components, and supporting QA inspections.

Required is a High School Diploma or equivalent with at least four years of relevant experience, including experience reading mechanical drawings. Occasional travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience, military airframer time counts.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Experience on aircraft structural installation/repair in a mechanical shop.
• Knowledge of sheet metal properties and shop mathematics (bend deduction/ bend allowance).
• Experience in AS9100 environments and ASME Y14.5 packages.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineers and customers to develop/assemble/install aircraft subsystems.
• Fabricate, repair, and install aircraft components and assemblies including minor composites and sheet metal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with engineers and customers to develop/ assemble/installaircraftsub-systems

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

Years of Experienceand Education: High School Diploma or equivalent with aminimum 4 yearsof relevantexperience (Military time as an Airframer does count).

• Knowledge of the physical properties and working characteristics of sheet metal

• Skills and experience with structural modification ofaircraftin an Intermediate or Depot level facility nice to have

• Skills and experience with airframe repairs usingsheetmetaland composite materials

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings

• Knowledge of tools and equipmentrequiredin the sheet metal/machinist trade

• Knowledge of shop mathematics and principles (bend deduction, bend allowance)

• Required experience working on commercial or DODaircraftasan aircraftstructural installer/ repairer.

• Experience reading/ interpreting ASME Y14.5 engineering drawing packages

• Experience working in AS9100 environment

• Basic computer skills focusing on MS Office

• Ability to work well with people

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• A&P license or A Part

$27.56 - $34.45 an hour
