What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Gather, analyze, and evaluate risk exposure through appropriate risk documentation and make proactive recommendations to improve risk profitability
- Apply underwriting knowledge to select and price individual risks, ensuring adherence to company standards
- Manage quoting, accepting, declining, modifying, and renewing risks within assigned territory
- Provide guidance to General Agents and communicate underwriting decisions effectively
- Conduct continuous profit and growth analysis by territory and agency, and monitor premium retention
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5-7 years of underwriting experience
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in good standing
- Proficiency in using desktop tools, including automated underwriting and email systems
- Strong communication skills with internal and external customers/peers
- Ability to adapt to changes in the company’s strategic vision
