Job summary

Ferrero is seeking a Maintenance E&I Technician to support its Florence, KY plant. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, and repair equipment within a team environment. Adherence to GMPs and safety standards is required, and SAP CMMS logging is part of daily tasks.

The role emphasizes industrial electrical and PLC-based controls knowledge, equipment calibration, and collaboration with maintenance and operations to keep lines running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical certificate in maintenance or automation.
• 3 years of experience as Electrical/Mechanical Technician or 2-year degree with 1 year related experience.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing defective parts, and adjusting equipment.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Proficient with computers to record and locate information.
• Strong math skills for calibration and maintenance.
• Knowledge of pipefitting, rigging, steam distribution, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Strong understanding of industrial electricity and PLC-based controls.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical system preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair in a team environment.
• Follow GMPs to guarantee food safety.
• Work safely with LOTO, PPE, risk assessments and work permits.
• Utilize SAP Plant Maintenance CMMS to document activities.
• Proactively utilize resources for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Identify parts required using BOMs, manuals and drawings.
• Perform machine adjustments to support operations.
• Maintain and service devices like switchgear, MCCs, PLCs, motors, sensors and VFDs.
• Participate in Ferrero Operational Excellence system.
• Perform additional duties as required.

The Maintenance E&I Technician is a member of the plant maintenance team that supports factory operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical and mechanical system preventative maintenance troubleshooting and repair in a team environment
• Follow Food Factory Good Management Practices GMPs to guarantee food safety
• Work safely following all required safe practices including LOTO PPE risk predictions and work permits
• Utilize SAP Plant Maintenance CMMS system to document activities such as planned work repair and future work needed
• Proactively utilize available resources for troubleshooting and repair operators maintenance team electrical prints manuals OEM website resources
• Properly and safely utilize tools and diagnostic equipment
• Perform all work in a professional and workman like manner
• Identify parts required for repairs utilizing available resources bills of material parts lists manuals mechanical assembly drawings etc
• Perform machine adjustments as required to support operations
• Examples of commonly encountered electrical devices and systems include switchgear and power distribution devices MCCs safety circuits disconnects fuses PLC automation motors motor starters relays circuit breakers VFDs photo eyes prox switches relays motor starters temperature probes level sensors flow meters control valves and more
• Participate in and support the Ferrero Operational Excellence system

About You:

• Associates degree maintenance related certificate or equivalent experience in Electrical Maintenance or Industrial Automation field
• 3 years of prior experience as an Electrical Mechanical Technician OR 2year technical degree in Electrical Maintenance or Industrial Automation AND 1 year of prior experience as Electrical Mechanical Technician
• Prior work experience must include diagnostic troubleshooting repairing and replacing defective parts adjusting machinery and modifying units to meet proper operating specifications
• Must be able to work overtime when required
• Able to work with computers navigating systems recording information locating information necessary to perform the job
• Able to use basic mathematical skills in order to perform machine and mechanical systems maintenance calibrations and repairs
• Working knowledge in the area of pipefitting and rigging
• Basic knowledge of steam distribution systems and principles
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic principles
• Advanced understanding of industrial electricity including motor basics and controls
• Advanced knowledge of industrial automation and PLC based controls
• Critical thinking skills
