Job summary

GAF is seeking an E&I Technician I at our Newton, KS plant to support maintenance and basic troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems under the Maintenance Supervisor.

You will perform routine PM, assist Level II with calibrations, and document work in the CMMS while upholding strict safety standards. Base hourly pay listed; room for growth within a large roofing materials leader.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• 3+ years industrial or mechanical maintenance experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• NFPA 70e certificate preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Team player with ability to influence others.
• Willingness to drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and participate in safety initiatives.
• Perform routine troubleshooting and repair of basic plant electrical and control systems.
• Assist Level II technicians with installation and calibration of instrumentation.
• Diagnose and repair basic motor issues and power systems.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment and utilities.
• Document all work in the CMMS with accurate labor, parts, and findings.
• Support Maintenance Planners by refining job methods.
• Participate in 5S and safety communications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
