Job summary

Brunel is recruiting an experienced E&I & Systems Specialist for our client's industrial processing facility in Vidalia, Louisiana.

The role is hands-on with leadership responsibility, supporting safe, reliable operation and day-to-day guidance to E&I technicians while collaborating with Maintenance, Operations and Process teams.

Strong electrical, instrumentation and controls experience, PLC/DeltaV troubleshooting and experience with alarms, interlocks and HMIs are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant industrial experience.
• Associate’s degree in Industrial Automation or 3+ years of hands-on industrial E&I experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
• Troubleshoot using PLC logic, HMI data, alarms and interlocks.
• Experience across commissioning, startup, maintenance or operations.
• Experience leading E&I technicians is preferred.
• Training/certification in Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens or DeltaV is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support daily activities of E&I technicians.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, automation and controls issues.
• Respond to downtime with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Review PLC/DeltaV logic, HMI alarms and I/O information.
• Provide support for PLC, HMIs, instrumentation and drives.
• Review electrical schematics, P&IDs and control narratives.
• Support commissioning, startup and validation activities.
• Mentor E&I technicians and drive reliability initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and vendors.

E&I & Systems Specialist

Vidalia, Louisiana

We are currently recruiting for an experienced E&I & Systems Specialist to join our client’s industrial processing facility in Vidalia, Louisiana.

This is a hands‑on technical and leadership position supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the facility. You will work closely with Maintenance, Operations and Process teams while providing day‑to‑day guidance to Electrical & Instrumentation technicians.

The ideal candidate will have strong electrical, instrumentation and controls experience, with the ability to troubleshoot plant equipment using PLC logic, HMI/DeltaV systems, alarms, interlocks, trends and I/O information.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the daily activities of E&I technicians
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, automation and controls issues
• Respond to plant downtime and production issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
• Review PLC/DeltaV logic, HMI information, alarms, interlocks, permissives, trends and I/O
• Diagnose faults involving sensors, valves, transmitters, electrical equipment and control logic
• Support PLC/HMI troubleshooting and minor logic modifications
• Provide support for PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, drives, control panels and associated E&I systems
• Review electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings and control narratives
• Support commissioning and startup activities, including I/O checks, control sequence testing, alarm validation and instrument scaling
• Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, vendors and contractors
• Coach and mentor E&I technicians on controls and troubleshooting techniques
• Support condition monitoring, critical spares and equipment reliability initiatives
• Recommend improvements to reduce downtime and improve plant reliability
• Ensure all activities comply with site safety, LOTO and change-management procedures

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of relevant industrial experience
• Associate’s degree in Industrial Automation or 3+ years of hands‑on industrial E&I and automation experience
• Strong hands‑on experience with electrical, instrumentation, PLC and control systems
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment using PLC logic, HMI/DeltaV data, alarms, trends, interlocks, I/O and control sequences
• Experience across construction, commissioning, startup, maintenance and/or plant operations
• Previous experience coordinating or providing technical leadership to E&I technicians is strongly preferred
• Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens or Emerson DeltaV training/certification is highly desirable
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively across Maintenance, Operations and Process teams
