Job summary

Colonial Group in Jackson, AL is seeking an experienced E&I Mechanic to maintain electrical and instrumentation systems at our mill. You will troubleshoot PLCs, sensors, motors, and control circuits; perform preventative maintenance; mentor others; and work shift/weekends as needed.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED and 2 years of E&I experience in heavy industry, with safety as a top priority. This position supports reliability improvements in collaboration with maintenance and operations

Qualifications

• 2 years electrical and instrument experience in heavy industrial industry, construction or military.
• Currently working as E&I mechanic/technician.
• Strong commitment to safety required.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring proper operation of electrical/control system components including PLC I/O modules and sensors.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues at machine centers and throughout the production facility.
• Performing high level electrical audits and adjustments per OEM specifications.
• Working with maintenance and operations to plan, procure and document activities.
• Mentoring and sharing knowledge with other technicians on maintenance and troubleshooting of PLCs.
• Performing preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure quality and production goals.
• Applying all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, OEM standards.
• Backfilling shift work and weekends as needed.
