Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America, Jackson mill, seeks an E&I Mechanic to maintain electrical and instrumentation systems, troubleshoot PLCs and sensors, and support reliability initiatives. Qualifications

• 2 years electrical and instrument experience in heavy industry or related field.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot electrical/control systems including PLC I/O and sensors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues at machine centers and throughout the facility.
• Perform electrical audits and adjustments per OEM specs.
• Collaborate with maintenance, supervision and operations to plan activities.
• Mentor technicians on PLCs, instrumentation and controls.
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance to meet quality goals.
• Follow applicable codes, reliability strategies and OEM standards.
• Support in planning labor, parts, tools and scheduling to minimize delays.
• Review and modify work orders for plant equipment; contact vendors as needed.
• Contribute to reliability-centered maintenance strategies and handle weekend shifts.
