Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced E&I Designer Level IV / E&I Technician for a full-time, temporary assignment in Theodore, Alabama. This onsite role blends senior electrical/instrumentation design with hands-on plant maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, field support, and project coordination.

The candidate will design safe, code-compliant solutions and lead junior staff while coordinating with plant and project teams to ensure constructible results.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of industrial electrical/instrumentation design or related experience.
• Relevant training or certifications in CAD/CAM tools and E&I practices.
• Ability to design safe, code-compliant electrical and instrumentation solutions.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop electrical/instrumentation systems including switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, and controls.
• Prepare one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, loop sheets, and panel layouts.
• Use AutoCAD to create and revise E&I drawings and packages.
• Conduct field walks, collect measurements, verify plant conditions.
• Inspect and troubleshoot E&I equipment; support maintenance and reliability.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to develop practical, clash-free designs.
• Review junior work for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Support project schedules and budgets with technical leadership.

Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced E&I Designer Level IV / E&I Technician for a full-time, temporary assignment in Theodore, Alabama. This fully onsite position combines senior-level electrical and instrumentation design with hands‑on plant maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, field support, and project coordination.

Location: Theodore, AL
Assignment Length: Approximately 12 months
Schedule: Full-time, onsite
Overtime: Paid when required

Position Summary

The E&I Designer Level IV / E&I Technician will support industrial plant operations and project execution by developing safe, code-compliant, and constructible electrical and instrumentation solutions. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently on complex assignments, coordinating with plant and project teams, and providing technical guidance to junior personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical and instrumentation systems involving switchgear, relay protection, MCCs, VFDs, lighting, grounding, power distribution, field instrumentation, and controls
• Prepare and maintain one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, loop sheets, block diagrams, panel layouts, cable and conduit routing, equipment layouts, and as-built documentation
• Use AutoCAD to create and revise detailed E&I drawings and design packages
• Conduct field walks, collect site measurements and equipment information, and verify existing plant conditions
• Inspect, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical controls, instrumentation, and electronic equipment
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance, failure analysis, root‑cause investigations, and reliability improvements
• Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, crafts, and civil/structural, piping, process, and mechanical disciplines to develop practical, clash‑free designs
• Review work completed by junior designers or technicians for technical accuracy and compliance
• Support project schedules and budgets, communicate scope changes, and provide technical leadership during project execution
• Follow plant safety requirements, applicable codes and standards, Process Safety Management (PSM), and Management of Change (MOC) procedures

Qualifications

• At least eight years of industrial electrical/instrumentation design, E&I maintenance, EPC, or closely related experience
• High school diploma or GED with an associate degree, technical degree, CADD certification, or equivalent relevant training and experience; bachelor’s degree is a plus
• NCCER Electrical Certification Plus required
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency
• Strong industrial experience with electrical distribution, controls, field instrumentation, plant equipment, drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
• Ability to troubleshoot E&I systems using diagnostic tools that measure voltage, current, resistance, temperature, and related inputs
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, communicate with plant personnel, and provide technical direction
• CADWorx 3D, Navisworks, SAP, control valves, and digital, analog, or pneumatic positioner experience preferred

Working Conditions

This position includes office‑based design work and regular work in operating industrial plants and construction areas. Candidates must be able to wear required PPE, complete site walks, climb stairs or ladders, tolerate industrial conditions, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
