Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC in Monahans, Texas seeks a Plant Operator to support the operation of five GE 7EA and two GE 7HA turbines, ensuring safe, reliable and environmentally compliant performance.

You will perform equipment checks, assist with maintenance, participate in safety procedures such as Lockout-Tagout and Job Safety Analysis, and coordinate with senior staff to promote continuous improvement and plant reliability. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related experience or cross industry experience.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Demonstrate standard computer-based skills.
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
• Must be a successful candidate on POSS/MASS program per company instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting of plant equipment and preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Maintain equipment at the plant and support safe operations.
• Perform clearances in LOTOV under direction of a senior operator or supervisor.
• Utilize/operate various hand, power, precision, or machine tools as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of electronic control systems and computers.
• Follow current safety and environmental regulations in all work phases.
• Adhere to safety procedures including LOTO, JSA, Confined Space, Hot Work and PPE.

Job Summary

Responsible for basic operational knowledge of all plant systems including five GE 7EA Combustion Turbines and 2 GE 7HA Combustion Turbines. Perform operation of the equipment within specification and environmental regulations and will work under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians.
Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function and perform maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Key Accountabilities

• Required duties depend upon the particular field requiring skills for advancement.
• Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
• Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
• Perform clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor
• Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers
• Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work
• Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

• 2 -4 years of related experience or cross industry experience
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
• Demonstrate standard computer-based skills
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
• Ability to travel 25% of the time
