Job summary

Luminant Generation Company LLC in Monahans, Texas seeks a Plant Operator to manage basic operation of plant systems, including five GE 7EA turbines and two GE 7HA turbines, ensuring operation within specifications and environmental regulations under supervision of skilled Plant Technicians.

You will learn proper function and maintenance of equipment at a gas plant, promote safe, effective, and reliable operation, and work toward POSS/MASS qualification with up to 25% travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of related experience or cross industry experience.
• Demonstrate standard computer-based skills
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills

Responsibilities

• Assist/troubleshoot plant equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Support daily maintenance, overhauls, and installation/removal of plant equipment and structures.
• Maintain a working knowledge of electronic control systems and computers.
• Follow safety and environmental regulations including Lockout/Tagout and PPE.

Job Summary

Responsible for basic operational knowledge of all plant systems including five GE 7EA Combustion Turbines and 2 GE 7HA Combustion Turbines. Perform operation of the equipment within specification and environmental regulations and will work under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians. Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function and perform maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Key Accountabilities

• Required duties depend upon the particular field requiring skills for advancement.
• Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
• Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
• Perform clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor
• Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers
• Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work
• Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

• 2 -4 years of related experience or cross industry experience
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
• Demonstrate standard computer-based skills
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
• Ability to travel 25% of the time
• All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position. POSS / MASS exams are administered on an as-needed basis by Human Resources and all communication concerning the testing is sent to the candidate's email address provided during the application process.
• LEVEL OF POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY APPLICABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE.
