Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic E‑Commerce Shipping Associate to join our Blue Springs team. The role supports our mission and involves pulling orders, packing, labeling, and shipping with accuracy and efficiency.

No degree required; HS diploma or GED preferred. Strong typing (40+ WPM), basic math, and computer skills are expected. This is an hourly full‑time position with benefits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production and packing stations before/after shifts.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and professional conduct at all times.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Accurately pull orders from the shelf, scan merchandise to track the chain of custody, and add to cart.
• Use disc-resurfacing machines according to instructions.
• Notify the supervisor of any errors in pulling, listing, or damaging products.
• Locate boxes and packaging material appropriate for the item being shipped.
• Package and seal items, preventing damage to merchandise.
• Weigh items, ensuring correct postage based on weight and dimensions.
• Create address labels and postage stickers, and ensure the package contents.
• Sort packages into designated containers, bags, or carts for shipping.
• Assist the shipping company with loading or unloading packages.
• Support the supervisor with the purging or relocation of inventory.
• Prepare the production station before and clean the station after every shift.
• Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and works cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
• Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation and contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
• Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
• Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
