Healthy Back Institute (HBI) is seeking an E-Commerce Operations Manager, DTC to own marketing and product execution at scale. The role is hands-on, with no direct reports, and reports to the COO.
You will drive project management, lifecycle programs, CRO testing, and brand consolidation across frontend and backend systems. You will collaborate with the CMO, creative teams, agency partners, and Tech, ensuring campaigns, landing pages, emails, and migrations ship on schedule and with quality.
This is a remote position.
E-Commerce Operations Manager, DTC
DTC / eCommerce Background Required · Direct-Response Experience a Plus
Since 2003, the Healthy Back Institute (HBI) has helped millions of people reclaim their freedom from pain. We are a fast-moving, direct-to-consumer health and wellness company built on six core values: Freedom, Love, Team, Growth, Excellence, and Courage. We are currently migrating from a legacy custom-development tech stack onto UltraCart and consolidating multiple legacy domains and brands into a single Living Well Nutraceuticals presence.
This is a hands-on execution role and the company-wide expert on running marketing and product execution at scale. You will not manage people. You will own the project management and operational engine behind our marketing campaigns, lifecycle programs, CRO testing, product launches, and brand consolidation work, across both frontend execution (campaigns, landing pages, offers, funnels) and backend execution (email and SMS automation, lifecycle workflows, creative and copy production).
You will partner closely with the CMO, creative leads, copywriters, agency partners, and the Customer Success and Tech teams to keep work shipping on a predictable cadence. You will have the authority to hold a launch that is not ready, reprioritize the testing backlog, and elevate blockers or vendor underperformance directly to the COO. This is a full-time, exempt individual contributor position reporting to the COO.
Act as the central coordination point between Marketing, Product, Tech, and Customer Success
Build and maintain project plans, timelines, and dependencies across all initiatives
Build workflows, SOPs, and execution processes that reduce friction and increase throughput
Identify bottlenecks early and drive resolution before they impact delivery
Drive end-to-end execution of campaigns, launches, and promotional initiatives, including landing pages, offers, and funnel updates
Drive execution of email and SMS programs, lifecycle automations, and retention workflows, and coordinate the creative and copy production behind them
Ensure backend platforms (Klaviyo, Maropost, or equivalent) operate cleanly and stay aligned with frontend campaigns
Manage a backlog of CRO tests across landing pages, offers, and checkout flows, ensuring each is properly scoped, quality checked, and launched on time
Support continuous optimization of DTC funnels and customer journeys tied to conversion, AOV, LTV, and revenue
Support HBI’s migration of legacy domains (e.g., losethebackpain.com) into our unified Living Well Nutraceuticals presence on UltraCart
Coordinate operational execution of new offers, bundles, and funnel updates across product, marketing, and tech
Ensure clean QA and go-live processes for new product initiatives and migrated assets
Own coordination of HBI’s marketing agency and vendor relationships, keeping engagements scoped, on track, and moving
Scope engagements up front, defining deliverables, expectations, timelines, and success measures before work begins
Hold agencies and vendors accountable to their statements of work, tracking deliverables against spend and surfacing underperformance early
Partner with Business Operations on scopes, agreements, and renewals, and with the CMO to ensure external partners deliver against the direction they are given
Campaigns, lifecycle programs, tests, and launches ship on time and on spec consistently
The CRO testing backlog moves at a predictable cadence with outcomes tied to conversion, AOV, LTV, and revenue
Migration and brand consolidation work stays coordinated across marketing, product, and tech
Agency and vendor engagements are clearly scoped, actively managed, and delivering measurable value against spend
Processes exist and are followed, reducing reliance on heroics or last-minute scrambles
What You Bring
DTC or eCommerce experience is required. You must have owned marketing or product execution inside a direct-to-consumer or eCommerce business. Candidates without it will not be considered. Direct-response experience is a strong plus but is not required.
Must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the US (not open to overseas candidates)
3 to 5 years in marketing operations, marketing project management, or program management within a DTC or eCommerce environment
Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects across marketing, product, and tech simultaneously without dropping details
Working knowledge of CRO principles: landing pages, offer structure, checkout flows, and how conversion connects to AOV, LTV, and revenue
Hands-on experience with tech and development teams, including writing requirements, managing tickets, QA, and launches
Experience scoping and managing agency or vendor engagements, including statements of work and holding partners accountable to them
Experience supporting domain migration, replatforming, or brand consolidation, and with PM platforms such as Wrike, Asana, Monday.com, or ClickUp
Direct-response marketing experience. We are a direct-response, subscription business, so exposure to direct-response funnels, offers, or continuity models will help you ramp faster.
Hands-on CRO testing experience, and experience with subscription, free trial, or continuity business models
Familiarity with UltraCart or similar SaaS commerce platforms, and with Klaviyo or Maropost
Experience in the health, wellness, or supplement DTC space
Experience in lean, fast-paced, or turnaround business environments
A DTC operator first. You have built your career in direct-to-consumer or eCommerce businesses and think in offers, funnels, tests, and repeat purchase behavior.
A strong project manager and systems thinker who drives work to completion, manages dependencies proactively, and keeps stakeholders aligned
A data-oriented operator who understands how your work connects to conversion rate, AOV, LTV, and revenue
Someone comfortable holding external partners to what they agreed to deliver, who raises underperformance early rather than absorbing it
Someone who pushes initiatives forward without waiting for constant direction, with real experience navigating the complexity of replatforming or brand consolidation
Remote position with flexible schedule and healthy work/life balance
Medical, dental, and vision insurance
401K Retirement Plan
Life and disability insurance
Flexible PTO
Discount on HBI products
If you have built your career driving execution in fast-moving DTC or eCommerce environments and want a role with real ownership and direct impact on revenue, we would love to hear from you. DTC or eCommerce experience is required for this role.
