Job description

As the Ecommerce Manager, you will own the performance, evolution, and day-to-day operation of our Shopify Plus website. You will be accountable for ensuring the site delivers a seamless, high-converting customer experience while supporting the company’s broader business and brand objectives.

About the Role

Serving as the central owner of the ecommerce experience, you will establish priorities, drive the website roadmap, and coordinate across internal teams and the Executive Office to move initiatives from concept through launch. Your core focus will include continually improving the website, managing the Shopify app ecosystem, advancing key ecommerce KPIs, and ensuring the site performs flawlessly every day. This position is a key part of the Marketing department and reports to the VP of Growth.

Responsibilities
Website Ownership
  • Serve as the primary business owner of the Shopify Plus storefront, with accountability for its performance, functionality, accuracy, and overall customer experience.
  • Develop and manage the website roadmap, establishing priorities based on business goals, customer needs, performance data, and operational requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the website rather than simply responding to requests or issues.
  • Own initiatives from initial concept and requirements through implementation, QA, launch, and post-launch evaluation.
  • Build and launch landing pages and other site content supporting campaigns, product launches, promotions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain the product catalog, pricing, product information, imagery, and merchandising accuracy.
  • Update and refresh site copy as needed to ensure the website remains current, engaging, and aligned with the brand.
Site Performance and Issue Resolution
  • Take ownership of website health and serve as the first line of defense for site issues, including app conflicts, cart glitches, checkout problems, and layout breaks.
  • Triage and resolve issues directly when possible and **escalate** clearly defined tickets to the Tech team when development support is required.
  • Troubleshoot discount stacking rules, active promotional codes, and automated flows to eliminate customer pain points and prevent revenue loss.
  • Lead post-deployment QA and verify that new features, promotions, and content updates are functioning as intended.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for the Customer Center team regarding urgent checkout errors, broken promotional codes, and other website-related customer issues.
  • Establish processes for identifying recurring problems, determining their root causes, and implementing lasting solutions.
Site Optimization and A/B Testing
  • Own a rigorous, ongoing A/B testing and conversion-rate optimization roadmap spanning the full customer journey.
  • Use site data, customer feedback, heatmaps, and behavioral analytics to identify friction points and prioritize improvements.
  • Develop test hypotheses, coordinate implementation, evaluate results, and translate findings into permanent site enhancements.
  • Continuously improve navigation, merchandising, product discovery, landing pages, cart functionality, checkout performance, and other key conversion touchpoints.
  • Balance conversion goals with brand experience, customer trust, operational considerations, and long‑term business value.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as the central point of coordination for website-related initiatives across Marketing, Technology, Operations, the Customer Center, and the Executive Office.
  • Translate business objectives into clear website requirements, implementation plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner closely with the internal Tech team to define technical requirements, manage and prioritize the ecommerce backlog, and oversee feature development and deployment.
  • Advocate for the website and customer experience when competing priorities or cross-functional decisions arise.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure campaigns, customer touchpoints, promotional experiences, and subscription workflows integrate seamlessly with the primary website architecture.
  • Manage the Shopify app ecosystem, including evaluating, selecting, implementing, and maintaining third‑party applications and integrations.
  • Regularly assess app performance, cost, necessity, site‑speed impact, and compatibility with existing code.
Analytics and Reporting
  • Own the monitoring and interpretation of daily, weekly, and monthly front‑end ecommerce KPIs.
  • Establish performance benchmarks and use data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Maintain analytics dashboards that provide clear visibility into website health, customer behavior, conversion performance, and key business outcomes.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to leadership regarding user behavior, campaign landing‑page performance, conversion opportunities, and A/B testing results.
  • Measure the business impact of website enhancements and use the findings to shape future priorities and investments.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3–5 years of direct ecommerce management or website ownership experience, with demonstrated accountability for site performance and continuous improvement.
  • Platform Expertise: Deep, hands‑on Shopify Plus experience is non‑negotiable. You should know the platform inside and out and be comfortable taking ownership of a sophisticated ecommerce environment.
  • Business Orientation: Ability to connect website decisions to customer experience, conversion, revenue, retention, and broader company objectives.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in supplements, health and wellness, or another highly regulated CPG industry is strongly preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong proficiency with analytics, reporting, testing, and data‑visualization tools, with the ability to turn findings into clear priorities and actions.
  • Technical Familiarity: While you do not need to be a developer, you should have a working understanding of HTML and CSS and be able to communicate effectively with an internal engineering team. This includes writing clear development tickets, defining acceptance criteria, scoping bug fixes, and overseeing QA.
  • Project Leadership: Proven ability to manage multiple website initiatives, establish priorities, coordinate stakeholders, and drive projects through completion.
  • Traits: Detail‑oriented, highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment where you are expected to make decisions, solve problems under pressure, and take accountability for results.
