Job summary

MOD BIKES in Austin, TX is seeking a detail‑oriented, hands‑on assembler to join our Garage team. You will build e-bikes from the frame up, install electrical components, and ensure safety and quality before shipment.

This role offers growth with a company building its playbook, opportunities to learn our build process, and a collaborative team that values hard work, learning, and fun. Weekend and holiday work may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on assembly experience — bikes, e-bikes, or general mechanical/electronics assembly.
• Comfortable working with hand tools, torque specs, and basic wiring/electrical connections.
• Strong attention to detail — every bike that leaves the shop needs to be right.
• Ability to lift and maneuver e-bikes (up to 75 lbs).
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Comfortable in a production-paced environment without cutting corners on safety or quality.

Responsibilities

• Assemble new e-bikes from the frame up following build specs and quality standards.
• Install and wire electrical components — motors, batteries, controllers, displays, sensors.
• Torque and check components to spec, completing final safety and quality checks before bikes leave the shop.
• Bench-test and function-check completed builds to confirm everything works before it ships.
• Keep build stations organized and tools/equipment properly maintained.
• Track parts and flag shortages or quality issues to the Garage Manager.
• Support the Garage team with occasional maintenance or repair tasks during downtime.
