Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Content knowledge in the area you are applying as indicated by your major/minor, previous experiences, or certifications.
• For PreK teachers: Hold an active EC-6 Certificate
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Engage in intentional, research-based planning to deliver structured, explicit, multisensory literacy instruction aligned with TEA-approved dyslexia programs and the Texas Dyslexia Handbook.
• Develop intervention plans that align to Section 504 Service Plans or IEP goals, ensuring instructional materials meet state requirements and support diverse learners with dyslexia and related disorders.
• Collect, analyze, and use formal and informal progress-monitoring data to update instructional plans and ensure growth for all students served.
• Anticipate potential misconceptions related to phonological awareness, decoding, encoding, and language structure, ensuring lessons connect to students’ background knowledge and home experiences.
• Design questions and intervention activities that promote complex thinking, metacognition, and student self-awareness of their learning profile.
