Job summary

Princeton Independent School District's Southard Middle School is seeking a Dyslexia Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year. The role provides an intensive, multisensory program for students with dyslexia, focusing on reading, writing, and language skills aligned with ARD and IEP goals.

The incumbent will collaborate with teachers, families, and staff, monitor student progress, prepare adapted lessons, and ensure compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of reading, writing, and spelling instructional strategies.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting.
• Ability to assess students for dyslexia.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and use student data.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop an IEP through the ARD process for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students with accommodations.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies reflecting learning styles and needs.
• Modify regular curricula as needed for students identified with dyslexia.
• Participate in ARD/504 planning meetings and selection of instructional media.
