Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years in vehicle testing, dynamometer ops, or test cell environments.
• Experience operating chassis dynamometers or similar equipment.
• Understanding of drive cycles, drive traces, and vehicle test procedures.
• Experience setting up, securing, and operating vehicles on a dynamometer.
• Familiarity with dynamometer maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting and strong mechanical/technical aptitude.
• Experience working independently in an R&D or vehicle test environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support chassis dynamometer testing of prototype and production vehicles.
• Prepare dynamometer systems for testing, including warm-up procedures and equipment setup.
• Load, position, restrain, and remove vehicles from the dyno safely and efficiently.
• Execute test cycles and drive traces using AVL dyno control systems.
• Monitor test execution and ensure adherence to established procedures.
• Troubleshoot test cell, vehicle, instrumentation, and dyno-related issues.
• Perform basic dyno maintenance, calibrations, and equipment inspections.
• Function as the first line of support before engaging equipment vendors for troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Assist with installation and modification of test harnesses and instrumentation.
• Support high-voltage vehicle testing activities while following safety procedures.
• Coordinate vehicle charging and preparation activities between test events.
• Support testing within environmental chambers operating from -40°C to +50°C.
• Work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure successful test execution and data collection.

Job description

Insight Global is seeking a hands-on Dyno Test Technician to support vehicle testing and validation activities within a chassis dynamometer laboratory. This individual will be responsible for preparing vehicles for testing, operating and maintaining dynamometer systems, executing test cycles, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting electrical instrumentation activities.

The ideal candidate has prior experience operating vehicle dynamometers, understands test cell operations, and can independently support day-to-day dyno testing. While EV experience is a plus, the primary requirement is strong dyno experience and a solid technical foundation in vehicle testing and electrical systems.
